Through a discussion of real world scenarios, this session will address the complex legal issues faced by employers of sick, injured and disabled employees. By discussing common mistakes, participants will learn how to weave their way through the complex web of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the New York Human Rights Law, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, as well as the sometimes conflicting obligations those laws impose on employers.

Matthew G. Boyd is an associate in the Albany office of Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC. He is a graduate of Marist College (B.S., summa cum laude) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D., cum laude), where he was Associate Editor of the Villanova University Journal of Catholic Social Thought, and Board Administrator of the Villanova University Moot Court Board. Mr. Boyd counsels and represents employers of all types and sizes in a variety of labor and employment-related contexts.

He is a member of the American, New York State and Albany County Bar Associations. Mr. Boyd is admitted to practice in New York, and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.
