The Steering Committee Members Up Close
Susan Sadler, Consultant
My name is Susan Sadler, and I have been a member of the JSEC Steering Committee since 2002. Currently, I serve on the Marketing Committee to promote our workshops and seminars. JSEC is an exciting and productive organization to be a part of.
Presently, I work part-time as a Job Placement Consultant and am under contract with the NYS Education Department to provide job placement services for individuals with disabilities. My clients have mental and physical disabilities. They have a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, and it is satisfying to me see them succeed in their jobs once placed.
Before becoming a Job Placement Consultant, I was a co-owner/president of a licensed NYS business proprietary school. I served as a director, developed course materials and trained individuals in computer and clerical skills until my retirement in 2000.
Giving back to my community is important. Currently, I’m on the UARC Foundation Board and work on the Holiday Auction and Trivia Contest committees. The Trivia Contest is scheduled for June 1st, and our committee is busy working on this event. I have served as a past-president of the Kingston Rotary Club and as a former board member of the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce.
I received a BS in Social Sciences from Bard College. In my spare time I like to quilt, walk, play the piano and read. I grew up in Ulster County and think it’s a beautiful area. I live in Cottekill with my husband of 30 years, David. We have one son, Nick.
