Human Resources Consultant/Employer Services Representative of the NYS Department of Labor

Ron Stonitsch, the Human Resources Consultant/Employer Services Representative of the NYS Department of Labor had been given the responsibility of re-charging the Ulster County JSEC, which had fallen into dormancy. By recruiting and inviting driven and service oriented business people from private industry and public agencies, the Hudson Valley JSEC has now become a real resource for the business community. Hudson Valley JSEC’s membership is over 400 with employers attending from every county in the Hudson Valley. The cutting edge seminars are co-sponsored with the Ulster, Dutchess, New Paltz Chambers, as well as, the Ulster Development Corporation and the Hudson Valley Society for Resource Management.

Ron was also a prime motivator for establishing an all-inclusive service provider team for businesses in Ulster County called The Red Carpet Business Team. The Team, comprised of virtually every business service provider in the county, meets monthly and is modeled on being a "single portal" for all Ulster County business inquiries or needs. The concept of this kind of employer services network is unique to the Hudson Valley and New York State, in terms of its size and all the services provided. Ron believes strongly every county throughout the State should be mandated to have this type of team to support the business community! 

Ron's philosophy of teamwork may come from being a coach and athlete for many years. Ron has been Head Coach of Vassar Colleges Men's and Women's Cross Country since 1982. In his youth, many years ago, when gas was 27.9 per gallon, Ron was a N.Y. State mile Champion, NCAA National Champion in Cross Country and 3 and 6 mile events as well as being an 8 time All American at CW Post College. Just for those of you who run or know running times...he ran an 8:32 two mile , a 4:01 mile, a 1:51 half mile and a 13:36 3 mile in college and a 4:15 mile in high school. 

Ron grew up in Long Beach N.Y. and married his high school love, Barbara, has 2 children, Leah and Adam, and they settled in New Paltz from New Windsor NY, in 1982. Ron received a Masters of Arts in Teaching from SUNY Cortland and has a permanent but, according to him, unused Teaching Certificate for Social Studies. Having been a runner all his life an operation removing the cartilage behind his knee has impacted his world somewhat but not his initiative and drive to support and promote the services of the Department of Labor.
